Teaching:Jubilant Voice Studio
Welcome! I'm deborah Prischmann
Did you know that everyone can sing? Your voice is as unique and special as your DNA!
My greatest joy in teaching voice for over 25 years is the moment when a student discovers their own true voice and becomes a creative vocal artist. Vocal wisdom is the door that leads to vocal freedom. A natural vocal production will result from a graduated study of breath control, vocalization, and a broad spectrum of vocal repertoire. The vocal studio is a nurturing environment where each student is given freedom to sing and explore different musical genres.
I accept all ages of vocal students from beginner through advanced.
ABOUT DEBORAH the teacher:
I am a a vocal artist, composer, voice teacher, piano accompanist, producer and founder of Jubilant Voice Ministries (original musical dramas).
I hold a Master of Music degree in Opera/Vocal Pedagogy from Temple University in Philadelphia teaching voice for two years, and a Bachelor of Music Education (K-12) from the University of Arizona, studying with Igor Gorin of the Metropolitan Opera on full vocal scholarship. Prior to recently relocating to Az, I was Adjunct Voice Faculty at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and was the founder/director of the Meadowlark Vocal Studio in Doylestown, PA.
I began singing professionally at age 15, being the youngest singer ever accepted in Ifor Jones’ Bach Cantata Singers. I received the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts vocal scholarship at age 16 (with Kevin Bacon & Liz Larsen), followed by a tour of the eastern U.S. as soloist with Ron Matthews and The Day of Judgment Cantata with orchestra.
I have performed throughout the US in Opera, Oratorio, Off-Broadway NY, on Carnival Cruise Lines and as one of the “Voices of the Pops” with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops performing regularly at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia. As a featured soloist there, I shared the stage with Broadway’s Tony Award winning stars and appeared in several live television broadcasts, including Philadelphia’s Liberty Medal ceremony and the Longwood Gardens Christmas special with Donny Osmond. I also appeared with Broadway star, Linda Eder, singing on her holiday concert tour at the Wilmington Opera House in Delaware.
As a studio vocal artist I recorded regularly (1998 -2007) for Alfred Music, with singers from the New York Voices, the Fred Waring Pennsylvanians, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Voices of Liberty from Disney World. I can be heard on the vocal tracks of Broadway’s new musical, Amazing Grace.
I currently serve as Vice President of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Southern AZ Chapter. I’ve adjudicated for the NATS Eastern Region at Westminster Choir College and West Chester University and currently for the Cal-Western Region student auditions. As a Vocal Clinician, I present Vocal Workshops for Colleges; public and charter schools and churches. Vocal Directing credits include Equity theater, high school musicals, PA Musical Academy for the Arts.
I currently teach private voice lessons at Marana High School and in my home studio.
I’ve enjoyed a versatile professional vocal performing career with lead roles in opera at the Pennsylvania Opera Theater; the Walnut Street Theater and the Piccolo Opera Company of Philadelphia; as oratorio soloist at the Philadelphia. Academy of Music, Musica Sacrae and with the Tucson Symphony; as a featured soloist in a Broadway Revue and Big Band Show on the Carnival Cruise Line and (as a member of Actor’s Equity) performed lead roles in musical theater at the Bucks County Playhouse, the Falmouth Playhouse and on Off-Broadway in New York. I’m listed in Marquis Who’s Who (2007 -17) for outstanding achievement in the field of music and recently honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Performing Arts by Council Rock High School in Newtown, PA.
